Admission criteria
- The eligibility criteria to apply for the entrance examination to grade XI is as stated by CDC/NEB.
- Admission at this college is based on the merit the applicant has secured in the SEE examination and the entrance examination conducted by the college.
- We offer Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Physics, Chemistry, and Computer Science only as optional subjects besides English, Nepali, and Mathematics as Compulsory subjects.
- After the written entrance examination, the shortlisted candidates will have to appear for an interview by a panel of experts before being finally selected for admission.
Exam
Government bodies are responsible for examining the students, curriculum and textbook development and
other administrative assistance.
After the formation of NEB and implementation of the Examination Directives 2077, NEB evaluates students
through a nation-wide board examination at the end of grade XII only and only the grades obtained in
that examination are included in the grade -sheet made available to the students.
Grade XI examinations are to be conducted by the concerned schools as per the Directives of NEB. The
Annual Examination grade-sheets (as specified) made available to the students by concerned schools are
necessary for a student to be able to fill up the board examination form of grade XII.
Grade XI and XII Examinations at NHI’s College
As stated in the Curriculum and the related Directives both Formative and Summative Evaluations of grade XI students and Formative Evaluations of Grade XII are duly conducted. It is mandatory for all students to appear in all the examinations as notified by the college. Mentioned attendance is compulsory for any student to appear in any of the examinations.
Formative Evaluation include:
- Unit Tests
- Terminal Examinations
- Practical examinations following each terminal examination
Summative Evaluation
Annual Examination/Pre-board Examination
Clarification : Internal evaluation and/or practical evaluation is duly made following the parameters and weight as stated in the Curriculum/Examination directives on a regular and timely basis. Students concerned are allowed to go through their marked answer sheets/projects or worksheets of all formative examinations. Concerned departments manage necessary remedial measures after each formative evaluation.
For summative evaluations conducted by the college, students are given chances for Grade Improvement tests on the basis of the guidelines of NEB regarding Grade Improvement tests.
Examinations are duly executed and recorded by the Office of the Controller of Examinations, a special examining body in the College.
Grade-sheets
Grade-sheets of the students are prepared in the format and layout and on the basis of the Letter Grading system introduced by NEB for each of the Terminal Examinations and they are made available to students/parents. The college invites them to collect grade sheets and to discuss the progress of their wards with teachers and concerned authorities.
We do not entertain person-to-person comparison on the basis of the grades that the students obtain.
